Alfonso Brown, Jr., affectionately known as "Al," was born on March 16, 1974, in Gainesville, Florida, to Alfonso Brown, Sr., and Annette Boston. He grew up in Gainesville and attended Eastside High School, proudly graduating with the Class of 1993.
Al began his career at Publix Supermarket as a bagger, where his gentle demeanor and infectious smile left lasting impressions on colleagues and customers alike. Though he wasn't a man of many words, Al's actions spoke volumes. He was known for his kind, attentive, and caring nature—a true reflection of his loving soul.
Al found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved shopping, playing video games, and watching football and basketball, with a deep passion for the FSU Seminoles. Whether it was cracking a joke to make others laugh or gathering with loved ones, Al's happiest moments were always centered around family. His smile could brighten any room, and his laugh was a gift to everyone who knew him.
In 2015, Al moved to Riverview, Florida, with his mother and sister, where he attended Love First Baptist Church. He found comfort and community in his faith, enriching his life and the lives of those who shared his journey.
On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, Al peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to join the heavenly host that awaits us all. His strength and resilience throughout his journey inspired all who knew him, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and faith.
Al's memories will remain and be held close in the hearts of those that loved and cared for him most. He leaves to mourn but cherish his memories: father, Alfonso Brown, Sr.; mother, Annette Boston; brothers, Willie Lee Johnson, Jr., and Corey Brown; sisters, Monekka Thomas, Latonya Brown, and Kristy Chevers; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
