AMARI MALIK HALL, a.k.a. “POP,” was born on May 16, 2003, in Gainesville, FL, to Latasha Renee Hunt and Augusta “Pete” Hall II. Amari received his education in the Alachua County school system and was a graduate of North Central Florida Public Charter School. He attended Santa Fe College and studied Business Management Techniques. Amari was a Security Officer for Knights Security of Gainesville Public Safety. Amari was a loving and caring person and touched many lives, both young and old.
Amari had a personal relationship with God and would often let others know about his relationship with the Lord. He loved music and started to write his own lyrics based on his lived experiences. Amari loved gospel music and would often strike up one of his favorite tunes and start singing no matter who was in the room.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-great- grandparents, Reverend Marcus Garvey Kelly, Sr., and Mother Helen Dowling Kelly; maternal great-grandparents, William “Bill” Hunt and Mae Retha “Teenie” Hunt; and paternal grandparents, Augusta “Pete” Hall, Sr., and Joyce Hall.
He is survived by his mother, Latasha Renee Hunt; father, Augusta “Pete” Hall II of Gainesville, FL; loving and devoted maternal grandmother, Helen J. Harris, a.k.a. “Nana,” of Gainesville, FL; granddaddy, Charles Ray Anthony Hunt of Lake Butler, FL; maternal great-grandmother, Blondell Daniels of Gainesville, FL; siblings, Augusta “Pete” Hall III of Gainesville, FL, Atterrick Hall (Abigail) of Bronson, FL, Ayuanna Hall, Aa’leiya Hall, and R’Jay Copeland of Gainesville, FL; His loving godmother, Sharvell Stephenson ; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and Amari had a special and loving relationship with LaShone Surrency, a.k.a. “Auntie Shone.”
