Danielle Simon Obituary

Danielle Lynn Simon, 44, of Melrose, passed away on Monday, October 27th, 2025. Danielle was born on July 24th, 1981, to Deborah Jean Lee and Edwin Robert Simon in Asheville, North Carolina. She was the youngest of four children and had strong love for her family. She was always up for getting together for events or just casual visits and phone calls. When Danielle was a young adult, she met Dondi Young and the two of them have shared a sisterly bond ever since.

Danielle graduated from Key West High School with honors in 1999. All will miss her passion for life and positivity. She was a loving mother, not only to her own children but to any child that might have needed a bonus mom. By her own words, her greatest achievement that she was the proudest of was being a mother. Danielle had an amazing light about her; she made the world a brighter place. Her ability to help in all situations without making someone feel like they were incapable, marginalized, or indebted is a rare gift that will be missed.

Danielle met Steven Legere Jr. when they were both 15 years old. They shared a friendship for many years and then on May 1st, 2011, that friendship turned into what can only be described as a marriage filled with respect and love. The official ceremony was being planned for the beginning of 2026. Danielle and Steve shared six wonderful children ranging in age from 6 to 19 years old. The couple also shared many animals and had a growing passion for Siberian Huskies. Danielle enjoyed many activities including watching football and other sports, reading, going to the beach, crafts, and hiking. Her favorite professional football team was the Baltimore Ravens and is shared by her mother, she was able to attend a live game in recent years with her father. Her favorite place to hike was at Ravine Gardens in Palatka because she felt closer to her sister Dana when she was there. When cooking she would often talk about how her sister Daphney made something great. Her list of activities was always growing to see if a new one would spark her children or family's interest. Danielle was a member of Eliam Baptist church. She was baptized on September 14th, 2025, by Pastor Arthur Johnson. She was overjoyed with her decision and loved her church.

She is survived by her Mother Deborah Lee, Father Edwin Simon, Brother Damon Simon, Sister Daphney Martin, Sister Dana Woodard, Sister in Sprit Dondi Young, Husband Steven Legere and their children Toby, Trent, Steven, Lewis, Tristan, and Tiberius. In them all may we see a reflection of her kindness, generosity, and positive spirit.
