Deborah Wilson-Bouie was born on December 29, 1953, in Hawthorne, Florida, to the late Robert Wilson and the late Dorothy Mae Jenkins. She received her early education at Shell Elementary School and later graduated from Hawthorne High School with the Class of 1971.
Deborah devoted many years of service working at Alachua General Hospital, Shands, and at Tacachale, formerly known as Sunland. In love and partnership, she met and later married the love of her life, Robert Bouie, on December 30, 1994.
A lifelong learner, Deborah returned to Santa Fe College in 2001 to pursue her Associate of Arts degree in Sociology. With great determination and pride, she graduated in 2004.
Deborah lived a life centered around faith, family, and love. She was the heart of every gathering, the host of celebrations, reunions, and holiday dinners, nurturing bonds across generations. Even as her health began to decline in 2022, her joy for family, storytelling, and sharing history never faded. She continued to celebrate life and ensure the next generation understood the legacy of those who came before them.
On Sunday, December 28, 2025, just five hours shy of her 72nd birthday, Deborah peacefully returned to her heavenly home.
