Donald Cheeseman, 87, of Melrose, Florida, entered Heaven's Gate, January 1, 2025 at the Malcolm Randall VA Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
Donald was born May 8, 1937 to Charles and Lena Maude Cozad Cheeseman in Springfield, Ohio. He graduated from Northeastern High School, Springfield, Ohio in 1955. Donald learned meatcutting skills at Shoemakers Grocery Store in South Vienna, Ohio.
He was drafted into the United State Army in 1960, serving two years in Anchorage, Alaska and upon his discharge from service, he joined his parents in Jacksonville, Florida at which time he went to work in the meat department at Winn-Dixie, retiring after 30 years.
He met and married Trudie Morris from Melrose, Florida in 1965.
Donald is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years; his children, Michael (Star), Matthew, Miriam (Charles Kestner), grandchildren, Kellie (Charlie), Matthew, Marilyn (John), Caleb, Michael (Jackie), Bradley, Alyssa, Dylan (Leah), Ryan, Brandon (Ella); great grandchildren, Ayden, Avalyn, Adaleigh, Trenton, Serenity, Alexis, Olivia, Makayla, Amelia, Isabella, Melanie and Presley; and numerous other family members. He is also, survived by three brothers, Eldon, John (Linda) and Sheldon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles E, Joseph, Twin Ronald; sisters, Donna Belle Hatfield, Gretta Turvey and Anna Mae Mitch.
Donald was known for his love, compassion and unwavering faith in God.
A praise service will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Eliam Baptist Church.
