Charlene Melinda Cooper was born August 18, 1957 in Gainesville, Florida to Charles Cooper and Minnie Bell Williams. Charlene was a graduate of Eastside High School , class of 1975. She later graduated from Saint Leo University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree from Webster University in Psychology as well.
Charlene’s professional career as a Mental Health Therapist spanned over three decades. Her career was a testament to the undeniable impact she had on the families and children she counseled. Charlene’s commitment to mental health (specifically in children) was unwavering. She epitomized professionalism with grace and eloquence.
Charlene was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a sister, auntie, friend, minister, and she exhibited poise and sophistication effortlessly. Being the intelligent , yet reserved and multifaceted woman she was, her serenity and balance was found in God, prayer, journaling, reading, and traveling.
Charlene was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Bell Norman, her only brother, Aaron Norman, and her sister, Judith Ann Teasley. Those who are left to continue her legacy: Son, Curtis Jackson II, Daughter, Deanna D. Johnson, and Daughter, Amelia F. Baiden. Grandchildren, Saniya Long and Solomon Long (A. Baiden), Curtrise Jackson, Curtis Jackson III, Jayla Jackson, Ismene Anderson, and Jaquez Javon Jackson. Great grandchildren, Jaquan Cox and Neveah Anderson. Siblings, Jamesetta (Jan) Lawson (Levi), Sadie Holmes (David), and Sara Monroe (Dave), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
