Elijah
"Pop" Jenkins was bom on December 10, 1942 to Marie Perry
and Ellah
Jenkins Sr. in Alachua, FL
which is where he was
raised. He attended and graduated from the Alachua County Training
School in Alachua, FL.
As a child, Elijah grew up in the AME Methodist church in Alachua.
FL. He worked for Copeland Plant System in Alachua, FL before
relocating to Atlanta, GA. He worked as a Armed Security Guard for
many years in Atlanta, GA before his retirement.
he joined the boxing club. Because of his superb boxing skills, he was
afforded the opportunity to work with outstanding celebrity boxers such
as Mohammad Ali and Mike Tyson. He was able to help these upcom-
ing boxers develop there skills.

Elijah "Pop" Jenkins accepted the Master's heavenly call on Monday,
July 25, 2022 and entered his eternal rest leaving behind a loving and
lasting legacy.
Those left to cherish his memories; two brothers, Reverend Doc
Ferman Perry Jr. (Elizabeth) of Yonkers, NY and Pratt Perry of Willis-
ton, FL; two sisters: Frances Leslie of Los Angeles, CA and Alretha
Jenkins of Trenton, NJ; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews
cousins and sorrowing friends.
