Ella Lu Brand

Ella Brand, 92, passed away peacefully in her Hawthorne, Florida home on February 10, 2025. Ms. Ella was born on April 27, 1932 in Englewood New Jersey to Lula and Ben. She spent over 30 years serving students at the New York City School Board while being a beautiful mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend to many loved ones.

Ms. Ella loved making crafts. She was known for her creative jewelry, chandeliers, sweaters, and dolls. She was the matriarch of her family; loved ones went to her for support and guidance. She was also known by many for her witty humor. Everywhere Ms. Ella would go, she left a lasting memory. After retiring, Ms. Ella purchased a home in Jacksonville, Florida where she continued to do what she loved most, fishing. After spending almost 30 years in Jacksonville, Ms. Ella purchased a home in Hawthorne, Florida, where she would once again continue to do what she loved most. Ms. Ella was a beautiful woman inside and out.

Ms. Ella leaves behind children: Lydia, Sharon (Tarnisha), Hermena and Herman, Jr. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She will forever be remembered by and in the hearts of her loved ones.
