Gerrick Deroyce Green affectionately known as "POP," was born on November 21, 1983, to the late Linda Smith and Robert Green, Jr. Gerrick was a proud graduate of Newberry Jr. Sr. High School.
He answered the call to serve his country as a member of the US Marine Corps. Folowing his military career, Gerrick devoted 15 years to the St. Johns County School District, where he made a lasting impact on his colleagues. Most recently, he was employed with the City of Green Cove Springs, continuing his commitment to public service.
He was a passionate sports enthusiast, and a diehard Seminole fan who found joy in cheering for his favorite team. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, sharing laughter and love. His radiant smile and kind spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Gerrick was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Linda Smith, and his grandparents, Willie and Elizabeth Smith as well as Robert Sr. and Jessie Green.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Father, Robert Green, Jr.; brothers, Conlandra Smith of Miami, Florida and Reverend Keith Smith (Tiara) of Archer, Florida; nieces, Tiana Smith, Keambrea Smith, and Shamon Williams; nephews, Keith Smith, Jr., and Torres Smith; aunts, Freda Smith-Thompson (James), Dinah Crenshaw, and Frances Mells; uncles, Willie Smith, Jr., and Starling Hunt (Janet); and a host of extended family and friends.
Gerrick will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his unwavering love, service, and the warmth he brought into the lives of others.
