Gloria Steen Walker was born in Alachua County, Monteocha Community, on August 19, 1956 to the late Robert Lee and Eushear Mae Walker Cudgo. Gloria accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age at Jerusalem Church of God by Faith and later joined Gainesville Family Worship Center and Landmark Holy Temple in Gainesville, Florida.
Gloria attended Buchholz High School and graduated in the class of 1974. She was a member of the Cooperative Business Education Clubs of America. Gloria's love for learning and helping other in high school made it easy for her to begin her career as she attended school and worked at J. Hillis Miller Health Center. Gloria pursued her education at Santa Fe Community College earning an associate's degree and Nova Southwestern University where she received a degree in medical transcription. She also attended Herzing University where she earned her degree as an insurance billing and coding specialist. Gloria worked until she retired as a medical transcriber in pathology from Shands in 2023.
Gloria accepted the masters heavenly call on Sunday, January 18, 2026 and entered her eternal rest. She was preceded in death by Henrettia Walker and Gary Walker.
Gloria leaves behind to celebrate her life and treasured memories: her loving sisters; Patsy Dennis, Diane Brennen Quarles (Thomas), Barbara Walker, Dorothy Walker Irving (Bennie), Earlene Walker, Daisy Manning, and Audrea Walker Baker (Booker); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
