J.C. McCoy was born on January 31, 1951 to the late Callie Mae M. Neal-Lawson. He was born on Louisville, Alabama. He later moved to Gainesville, FL. He was extremely gifted and talented, and he always used his gifts and skills to help anyone in his community who was in need. He was well known and respected by all who knew him and he will truly be missed.
J.C. accepted the masters call and entered his heavenly rest on September 26, 2024. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his three children; Jamie Lee Simmons (Lil J.C.), Cyenell Olivia McCoy and Jessica Miranda McCoy, his four grandchildren; Jamiyah Whitehead, Janayla Whitehead, Antonio Brown and Lavayah McCoy, his brothers; Johnny Neal (Jacklin Pettway), George Russaw (Mary Russaw), his sisters; Miriah Russaw, Elder Jennie Mae Kennedy, Gladys Andrews, Joeann Smith, Annie Lou Russaw-McCoy, Ellen McCoy, Lena Pearl McCoy and Norma Jean Neal, a very special friend, Rosetta Scott, as well as Zeddie Mae Chess and Reginald W. Chess. In addition to a host of nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.
