Jacqueline Denise McNair Harris-Dawson, aka Jackie, born July 8, 1961, in Norfolk, VA departed this life on October 20, 2024, in Gainesville, FL. The daughter of John and Geneva Richardson.  She graduated from Phoebus High School in 1979 and joined the U. S. Army. She later married Tyrone L. Harris and from that union was two children. After leaving the military Jackie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, met and married Weyman Dawson, and eventually moved to Raleigh NC and worked for North Carolina Correction Institute for Women for many years. She later moved to Florida in August of 2013. Jackie had great passion and love for children, especially her nieces, nephews and younger cousins who refers to her as Aunt Jackie.  She would fill her home with them during the summers. Jackie drove a red Subaru station wagon; she would drive from NC to VA picking up children for summer visits at her home. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was such a loving and free spirit woman.

Jackie is preceded in death by her biological father, John D. McNair, her brothers John R. McNair, Melvin L. McNair and Aaron Q. McNair, her Maternal and Paternal grandparents. She leaves to cherish her two children daughter, Ebony L. Harris, of Gainesville, FL., son Tyrone L. Harris, of Durham, NC., six grandchildren Jackell, Tiana, Tiera, Jahlon, Mariyah and Taylor, parents John & Geneva Richardson, two sisters Joyce Brooks and Mary McNair of Hampton, VA, three brothers Vergil Richardson of Hampton, VA, John Boone (April) both of Hampton, VA, Joe Nathan Dean of Rocky Mt. NC, three sister- in-laws Karen McNair Rutley, Kendra McNair-Bynum and Renee McNair, Goddaughter Breana Watson and Godbrother Hassan Capehart. One uncle Carl Walker and Robert Howell of Rocky Mt. NC and 4 Aunts, Sonya Walker, and Nancy Wiggins both of Rocky Mt. NC, Joyce Johnson, and Lois Wesson of Maryland. A Host of Nieces, Nephews and cousins and her best friend Crystal Hunt of Las Vegas, NV.
