Julius “Yancy” Webster was born on April 2, 1962 in Gainesville, FL to Julius Poe (deceased) and Joyce Webster-Powell. He was raised in Long Island, New York as a young child by his late grandmother, Mary Catherine Artis.
He was known as a Yancy “Yank” who was funny, outgoing, always smiling, telling jokes, loving and kind to those who was around him. He was always helpful, had a bubbly personality, who would light up a room when he walked in. Everyone who knew Yancy knew him as a good, kind, trusting and honest person who loved life and lived it with no regrets but with so much joy in his heart. He loved to sing whenever he got the chance.
He attended P.S. 147 in Queens, New York as his primary education. He graduated from Gainesville High School where he excelled in football. He was a member of St. Paul CME Church. He worked for Alachua County School Board as a bus driver for many years and Mister Paper Office Supply for years.
He was preceded in death by his loving brother, Jarrett Webster and his loving grandmother, Mary Catherine Artis and his grandfather, Elmo Artis.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his devoted mother; Joyce Webster-Powell, his devoted daughters; Dominique Webster, Alexis Webster, Brittany Webster, daughter; Yan’necia Webster, and son; Julius Webster. Two bonus daughters, Adrian Williams & Solairea Griffin, his grandchildren, Taylin Young, Kamryn Thomas, Kylee Jenkins, Kendall Young, Taniya Alston, Tristin Young, Vaughn Jenkins, Serenity Alston, Deon Young, Kennedy Jenkins, Perseus Witlock, Penelope Witlock, Pharoah Witlock, Paisley Witlock,, his loving sisters; Deatrice Webster, Rechel Powell, Sharmayne Epps, his loving brother; Robert Powell, 2 special aunts, Sheila Ward and Delores Davis and devoted friend, Terry Cohens who never left his side. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and sorrowing friends.
