Kayla Denise Johnson was born in South Pittsburg, Tennessee on December 19, 1950. She was the third child born to Samuel and Charlotte Aker. She was the granddaughter of Charles Mitchell Streeter and Margaret Johnson-Streeter.
She moved to Winter Haven, FL in the early 1960’s and graduated from Jewett High School in 1968. After graduation, Kayla attended Florida A&M University where she earned her B.A. in Speech & Drama. She also received a degree from Columbus University in Counseling Psychology.
Kayla was a member of Parkview Christian Life Center in Haines City, FL under the leadership of Pastor Henry Barnes and under Watch Care at Compassionate Outreach Ministries, Gainesville FL under Senior Pastor Margaret Dennison. She wore many hats throughout her lifetime: Pastoring for over 30 years, Author, Realtor, and Playwriter.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters, Charlotte “Sintoria” McMillian (Henry) of Gainesville, FL, Carla Kirby Feagin (Leroy) of Kissimmee, FL, Margie Kirby of Atlanta, GA, and Samantha Stultz (Thomas) of Olive Branch, MS; eleven grandchildren, Bryan Williams, Brandon Williams, Lamar Williams, Christina Bridley-Colon (Jeffrey), Christopher Feagin, Samya Feagin, Leroy Feagin III, Jasmine Stultz, Elijah Stultz, Jacob Stultz, and Levi Tye; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Anita Miler (Ted) of Winter Haven, FL; brothers, Samuel Aker (Loretta) of Winter Haven, FL and Bonny Aker of South Pittsburg, TN; a very special Uncle and Aunt, James and Joyce Streeter of Haines City, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
