Lawrence Orlando Kelly Sr

Lawrence Orlando "Chubby" Kelly, Sr., beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, surrendered to the will of God on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Palm Garden Care Center.

Lawrence O. Kelly, Sr., was born to the late Albert and Marie Kelly on August 13, 1955, in Gainesville, FL. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School c/o 1974 and was a brick mason by trade. He enjoyed going to church, spending time with his family, and was a lifelong Florida Gator fan. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ida Mae Williams and Ruby Mae Kelly Ford, and his brothers, Albert Kelly, Jr., Clarence Kelly, and James Johnson.

Chubby leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted son and namesake, Lawrence Orlando "Omar" Kelly, Jr., and a special daughter-in-law, Essence Kelly of Gainesville, FL; one loving daughter, Muriel Showers of Gainesville, FL; four loving sisters, Gloria Kelly, Christine Kelly, Elizabeth Brooks, and Rutha Harrison all of Gainesville, FL; and one loving brother, Roger Kelly of Gainesville, FL; his three loving grandsons, Lawrence Orlando "Lil Omar" Kelly III, of Atlanta, GA, Christopher Bishop and Josiah Bishop, both of Gainesville, FL; two loving granddaughters, Leila
"Olivia" Kelly and Ivory Minter, both of Gainesville, FL; loving great-grandson, Omar O'Ryan Kelly of Atlanta, GA; two special nieces, Shirley Foster and Samantha Warren, both of Gainesville, FL; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
