Leroy Wendell Bailey was born on March 28, 1962, in Levy County, FL to the late Leroy Robinson Jr. and Viola Bailey Williams. He was baptized at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. In 1981 he graduated from Newberry High School. In 2017, he married Pearlie Mae Ashton Bailey, who preceded him in death. Wendell was employed with Florida Concrete Recycling, Inc.
Wendell departed this life on September 5, 2023 and left to mourn, but cherish his memory: two loving daughters, Regina Johnson and Rosemary Johnson of Leesburg, FL; grandchildren, Jermeia Williams, Sonaria Jones, Jermarien Williams, and Ky’ron Green; great-grandson, Altereque Baker III; brothers, Martella C. Asbery of Ocala, FL and Savalas Lee (Shabree) of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Noreen Asbey Grimes (Paul) of Gainesville, Mary Williams Johnson (DeVaughn) of Lake Wales, FL, Luretta Robinson, Emeline Dennis (James), Bertha Williams (Bruce), all of Archer, FL, Katie Robinson of Gainesville, FL, Dina Monroe (Kevin) of Jacksonville; siblings, Lucile Robinson Freeman, Michael Robinson, Larry Robinson, and Jackie Robinson all preceded him in death; and a host of loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
