Malachi Cyrus Lancaster, 18, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, due to a hunting accident. Born on September 14, 2006, in Gainesville, Florida, Malachi grew up in a multicultural household as the son of an American father, Joel, and a Zimbabwean mother, Sophie.
A senior at Newberry High School, Malachi was a well-rounded and accomplished student, nominated as homecoming king› an A/B Honor Roll student, and a football player.
Malachi's adventurous spirit led him to embrace life fully, enjoying activities like dirt bike riding, mud bogging, fishing, truck meets, football, and global travel. His entrepreneurial drive started early, as he pursued ventures such as lawn care, car detailing, cell phone repairs, speaker installer, snack man, and more. His work ethic, faith/confidence, and dedication made him stand out amongst his peers.
Malachi was survived by: his loving parents, Joel and Sophie Lancaster; older brother, Munashe; and sister, Natalie. He was also deeply cherished by his grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, church community, teachers, and neighbors, both near and far.
