Margalene Bradshaw Kelley, affectionately known by her family as Deenie, was born on September 26, 1952, in Nashville, Georgia, to Frank Moffitt (deceased) and Alice Alberta Bradshaw (deceased). Her early childhood years she attended elementary and middle school in the Alachua County public school’s system. She went on to graduate from Buchholz High School in 1973, where she has the distinct title of being the first African American Homecoming Queen.
She was employed for thirty-three years at Sunland Training Center which went on to become known as Taccachale Center.
She was with the love of her life, Kenneth Kelley, for thirty-seven years; married twenty-seven years.
Margalene was a partner of PASSAGE Family Church for 18 years. She served faithfully under the leadership of Pastor George B. Dix, Jr. She was Director of the Support Services, Greeters Ministry, Director of the Clothing Ministry, and the Assistant Outreach Food Program Director and various other capacities as called to serve.
You could find Margalene on any given day participating in her favorite pastime – gardening. A true green thumb; she could bring anything to life. She was a member of several gardening clubs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by three siblings - Robert Bradshaw; Mary Nell Bradshaw & Billy Bradshaw.
Margalene will be fondly remembered by her spouse: Kenneth Kelley - Gainesville, Florida; her children: Constance Luciana Williams - Jacksonville, Florida, Billy Williams (Linda) - Gainesville, Florida, Terrance Pugh - Gainesville, Florida, and Kendall Kelley - Gainesville, Florida; her siblings: Doris Jenkins - Clermont, Florida and Woodrow Bradshaw - Ocala, Florida; brother-in-law: Vonn Kelley; sister-in-law: Shauntell Kelley; her grandchildren: Wynter Williams, Davion Pugh, Da’jon Brown, Alice Olivia Williams, Dalayjah Pugh, Da’vaehPugh, and David Pugh, Jr.; her special friend: Edna Stewart, Gainesville, Florida; and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
