Obituary

Mrs. Maria Teresa Marquez McLain, 75, of Keystone Heights, passed away Thursday March 23, 2023, in Gainesville. She was born June 30, 1947, to Benjamin and Mary (Perea) Marquez, in Farmington, New
Mexico. Maria was a homemaker, a Christian, and enjoyed being around people. She loved her family and friends and had a generous and loving spirit.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Brian McLain, daughter Desert Dawn Kaye, and brothers Ben, Freddy, Ray, and Geno Marquez. Maria is survived by her sons Gene Kaye (Jennifer Austin), and Allan Kaye and a daughter Michelle Hodgins along with a brother Victor Marquez Brother. She was lovingly called “Grandma” by grandsons, Dylan and Austin Kaye; Victor, Benjamin, and James Hodgins; a granddaughter,
Hope Hodgins, along with three great grandkids. Also left behind are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host friends that will miss her dearly. 
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., at 310 State Road 26 Melrose, FL
32666, with Dylan Gene Kaye officiating
