NATHANIEL GAINES, JR., was born on October 25, 1960, to Martha Lee Chisolm and Nathaniel Gaines, Sr., in Ocala, FL. He was raised in Blitchton, FL, by his parents. He attended Williston High School. He was the oldest of four siblings. As a young boy, he grew up on a farm where he learned to care for and tend to horses.
He was employed for many years as a laborer, but more specifically, he was a roofer. In 2001, he married the love of his life, Alfredia Williams Gaines. He was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church along with his wife. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, driving, and occasional fishing. He loved his family dearly, and he would always stay in contact with them.
Nathaniel was called to his eternal rest on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Shands Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his devoted and loving wife, Alfredia Williams Gaines; daughter, Latosha (Lamone) Calloway; sons, Detorian Gaines, Versell Sanders, Omar Barnwell, Ernest Barnwell, and Kendrick Williams;
