Paula Lynette Manning, affectionately known to those closest to her as “Sweet P”, was born on January 22, 1969 in Gainesville, FL, to parents, Palarious Hall and Doris George Manning.
Paula was a 1987 graduate of PK Yonge, Gainesville FL, where she was active in Chorus, Student Government Association, Upward Bound and Drama. She went on to matriculate at Bethune Cookman College with a focus on Business Administration.
Paula was an entrepreneur with a love of cooking, decorating, and event planning. A long time resident of the 5thAvenue Community she was the candy lady and opened her home and heart to support the neighborhood youth. She devoted her life in service to others with a heart of gold and an infectious spirit she embodied grace and elegance. As Owner of Sweet P’s Passionate Events, her divine opulence often on full display as she was a highly respected and sought after event planner. Her legacy will continue as she provided mentor services to numerous up and coming event planners.
She was preceded in death by her parents Palarious Hall and Doris George Manning.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving sonshine SD Manning (Katavia), twin brother Paul Manning, Darryl Manning Sr. (Tanganeki), and sister Daisey Manning-Cook (Charles). Her god sister LaSonya Green. Her best friend since 1974, Cleo Phillips. Her God children, Shaquille Walker and TyJ Hayes. Children she raised as her own Shy’Teria Manning and Catrina Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and sorrowing friends.
Though Paula left us far too soon, the impact she had on the community will be felt for years to come.
