Peggy Buchanon Obituary

Peggy Ann Buchanon was born on March 31, 1968, in Gainesville, Florida. She was the youngest of her siblings and a true light to her family. From an early age, she carried a gentle spirit and a warm smile that made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Peggy was a member of Pleasant Plain United Methodist Church in Newberry, Florida. She loved worship and often lifted her hands in praise with a smile that reflected heaven's joy.

Peggy lived her life with quiet strength and remarkable resilience. She believed in the goodness of God and found comfort in His Word. Her faith guided her through life's many seasons, and she leaned on prayer as both her refuge and her joy. Her Bible and journals were filled with notes and promises that reminded her of God's faithfulness.

Peggy was a true people person. She loved being around others and had a way of connecting to anyone she met. She never met a stranger with easy smile and full laughter.

Her greatest pride and joy were her two beloved sons, Evan and Marcus, whom she loved deeply and prayed for daily. They were her inspiration, her laughter, and her legacy.

On October 12, 2025, her life on earth was brought to a close, and she entered her eternal rest in the presence of the Lord. Though her earthly journey has ended, her prayers continue to cover her sons, her laughter echoes in their hearts, and her faith lives on through them. Her life reminds us that faith can carry us as through all seasons, and love leaves a legacy that never fades.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Evan Jones and Marcus Smith; her loving mother, Idella Buchanon Ivey; and her siblings Linda (Wayne) Fields, Gail (Walter) Donley, Boyd Sr. (Venisha) Buchanon, Shad Buchanon, Sr., and Ramona Buchanon. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.

She was preceded in death by her father, John H. Ivey, nephews Darius Sr. and Travis Donley, and other loved ones who now rejoice with her in heaven.

Peggy will never be forgotten, for her light continues to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.
