Rena Mae Goode was born on August 21, 1946, in West Palm Beach, Florida, the 4th child to Itasca Faircloth Goode and Eddie Lee Goode. She grew up in Gainesville, Florida and attended Lincoln High School, Class of 1963. She graduated GHS Adult Education Class 1972. She worked over 25 years with the School Board of Alachua County HeadStart Program. She was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church serving many hats on the Usher Board, Choir Director, Children’s Choir Director, Adult Choir, Senior Choir, held the office of Church Clerk/Secretary, and even served as the church custodian for over 10 (ten) years; a job she took very seriously. She always said, “This is the Lord’s House, take care of His and He will take care of mine.” She enjoyed singing, music, being around her family and playing the drums.
Rena leaves behind her beloved three daughters, Karen Goode (Duan), Kathy Goode (Charles) and Karla King (Robert); grandma leaves behind eight (8) grandchildren; Michael Brown Jr. (Jessica), Brandon Goode Sr. (Shariea), Ontario Goode (deceased), Chelcie Goode, Arsenio Brown, Tikara Henderson(Corey), Jasmine Brown and Tekerya Davis, and 20 Great Grandchildren. Siblings: Freddie Goode, Laurence Goode, Sr. (deceased), Rosemarie Rayford (deceased), Elmira Goode and Vanessa Mould. Special Son Ernest Mosley and a Special Friend Jon Christensen.
