Ruby Lee (McKinnon) Johnson

Ruby Lee McKinnon Johnson was born on April 26, 1939 in Maccleny, FL to the late Louis & Inez McKinnon. Ruby was raised in Tallahassee, FL and later relocated to Gainesville, FL with her husband LJ Johnson Sr. Sister Johnson worked as a dietary aide for the Alachua County School System (Duval Elementary) for over 20 years and Tacachale Center for 16 years, before retiring.  

Sister Johnson was preceded in death by her beloved husband LJ Johnson Sr.; her parents, Louis & Inez McKinnon; her brother, Clarence Hollins.  Sister Johnson accepted the Master’s heavenly call and  departed this life peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 14, 2025.

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loving son, LJ Johnson Jr. (Lanitra);  her grandchildren, Dajour, Mikayla, Miel, Lorenzo, Logan and Lamar; her godchildren, Shronda Allen, Calvin Dickinson and Omarion Johnson; her god-grandchildren, Adrianna and Ashley; her sister in law, Pearlie Mae Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends.
