Tyren Edward Certain was born on January 24, 2000, in Gainesville, FL, to parents Tonya Starling and Tressie Certain. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Reverend Edward and Sister Rebecca Starling.
He received his formal education at Williams Elementary, Lincoln Middle School, ultimately graduating from Eastside High School in the class of 2018. During his high school tenure, Tyren actively participated in the esteemed Culinary Arts Program. Post-graduation, he embarked on a professional trajectory, contributing as a Cook at BJs Restaurant and PF Chang, culminating his career as a Manager at Moes.
In his early years, Tyren was an esteemed member of the Third Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. His invaluable role in their musical ensemble, notably as a drummer, commenced at the tender age of 4 under the mentorship of Reverend Edward Starling. Beyond his musical pursuits, Tyren derived pleasure from diverse interests, including basketball, baseball, fishing, culinary endeavors, drumming, and playing his PS5. He looked forward to coaching his nephew, Jayceon, in his first year of baseball. He looked forward to attending his first practice Tuesday the day after he was called home on Monday, March 4, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his great grandfather, Simon Certain Sr.; great grandmother, Beatrice Certain; and aunt, Deatrice Certain.
Tyren leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Tonya Starling (Gregory McDonald); father, Tressie Certain (Amnie); sisters, Tressa Certain and Alexis Cromarty (Rico Miles); grandparents, Rev. Edward & Sister Rebecca Starling, Simon Certain Jr., and Dorothy Rutledge (Bobby); aunts, Dominica Certain (Ernest), Elisha Starling (Rahim Rivera); uncles, Oliver Ross (Lakeshia), Edwin Ray (Dwayne), Timothy Hayes Sr. (Aisha), Nicholas Certain (Reba); niece, Raegan Miles; nephew, Jayceon Ross; cousin, Marlin Roper Jr.; godparents, Shilivia and David McNabb, Stacey and Alfred Cason; special god siblings, Steven Graham Jr., Shannon Lee, Leon Houston and De'Cari Rutledge; and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
