Graduated: She graduated from Gainesville High School.

Occupation: Caregiver

Vanessa was a very loving person to all who knew her.  She had a heart of gold and was always willing to help in any way that she could.  In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her beloved family.

Vanessa finished her course and peacefully slipped away into her eternal rest on Monday, May 20, 2024.

She leaves to cherish her treasured legacy; her husband, Collis Dexter; her daughter, Brittany Brown; 20 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren; her two sisters, Jackie Smith and Andrea Simmons; one brother, Allen A. Smith (preceded in death); her godchildren, Jordan McFadden, Erica Phillips, Danielle Gates; special cousin, Almetta Simmons; special friends, Debra Wilson Bouie, Pamela Clark, Davonte Daniels, Natalie Davis, Mr. Willie Chris, “The Georgia Family”, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and sorrowing friends.
