Vivian J. Moorer, age 80, of Alachua, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2025. Vivian Moorer was born on December 21, 1944, in Alachua, Florida to the late Alexander Lundy and Vivian George. In 1967, she was joined in holy matrimony to William C. Moorer. In 1989, Vivian was a background singer with Shirley Caesar and performed at Carnegie Hall. She also performed with Jessie Watson Burns. Vivian graduated from A.L. Mebane in Alachua, Florida. She furthered her education at Queens College in New York and later graduated from Santa Fe Community College, majoring in Graphic Design.
Vivian accepted the Master’s Heavenly call on Friday, April 25, 2025, and entered her eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her
brothers, Enoch Lundy, Charlie Lundy, and Chester Lundy, and her sister, Linda Lundy.
She leaves to mourn: her sons, Kevin A. Hamilton, Sr., and William R. Moorer; daughter, Nately J. Ledgering; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Harry Lundy, William Lundy, Helen Tyson, Gwendolyn Davis, and Julia Bass; honorary sister, Shirley Miller; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
