Willie Bernard Ricks, Sr., was born on May 2, 1950, to the late Delia Worthen Ricks and James Charles Ricks. He was the oldest of seven siblings and was preceded by three of them
in death: Donald, Arthur Lee, and Walter Ricks.
In his early years, he received his education in the Emanuel County school system. He also worked as a roofer, helped friends fix cars, and did anything that needed to be done.
Willie was a jack of all trades. He was a good man and didn’t mind helping anyone in need. He loved life, family, God, and making everyone laugh.
On July 21 at 12:49 a.m., God saw he was tired and called His child home.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Runell Ricks; 11 children; three sisters; 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one living aunt, Katherine Worthen of Wildwood, FL; special grandson, Antavas “AD” Ricks; and a
host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family.
