Willie Andrew Rutledge

Mr. Willie Andrew Rutledge, 77 years old, passed away on December 19, 2023, at Hospice in Gainesville, Florida. He is the son of Mother Gussie Mae Rutledge and the late Mr. Andrew Rutledge. He was a resident of the Waldo Community for many years. Willie was a retired field worker from the Hawthorne Community, he was a great outdoorsman and fisherman. Lil’ Willie was the life of the party. If a card game was going on in Waldo, “Lil Willie” would be there trying his best to win.
 

After a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, Jesus Christ, embraced our brother with His love and enfolded him in His arms, and called him home to a great reward.

Willie was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Andrew Rutledge; Jessie Lee Gadson, Brenda Rutledge; and special niece, Elisa Rutledge.

 He leaves to mourn: his loving mother, Gussie Mae Rutledge; daughter, Tasha Rutledge; son, Mr. Willie A. Rutledge, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorene Carter (Bernard), Mary Ann Lias (Charlie),Angie Rutledge, Mary Jane Rutledge; brothers, Claude Rutledge (Liza), Curtis Hill, Geroge Hill, Charlie Hill Jr.; special uncle, Willie Rutledge; special brother-in-laws, Bernard Carter and Charlie Lias; special niece, Frankie Williams; special cousin, Mozelle Price; and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
