Winifred Yvonne Jacobs was born on September 24, 1939, to the late Mamie Johnson and Charlie Smith in West Palm Beach, Florida. As a young girl she relocated from West Palm Beach to South Carolina where she graduated high school. Following her graduation from high school she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, for a while before relocating permanently to Gainesville, Florida. She attended Santa Fe Community College, where she obtained her associates degree.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Joe N. Jacobs who was the love of her life. If you saw him, you also saw her. Together they raised a beautiful and loving family. She worked for many years at Sunland (currently Tacachale) as a House Parent and was ultimately promoted to Supervisor before retiring. Following her retirement, she started her home childcare service, where she took care of many young children who are now successful adults. She also worked for several years as a Voting Poll Deputy for the Supervisor of Elections Office during all local elections. She was the co-founder of the Essa Scholarship Foundation. She was a member of the Eastern Stars.
In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends.
On Sunday, April 26, 2026, she accepted the Master's Heavenly call and entered her eternal rest leaving behind a beautiful legacy.
Those left to cherish her beloved memories include her children, Jeffrey Williams, Micheal Wiliams, Ronald Watson, and Timothy Williams and Bridgette Williams of Gainesville, FL, Michelle (James) Tillman of Nashville, TN, and Sandra Williams and Thyron Williams of St. Petersburg, FL; special daughters, Conjwanna "Tina" Robinson; First Lady Deborah Fields; Dorothy Rushing; Lula Mae Thomas and Brenda Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
